This strong pergola is made from high-quality Douglas timber beams (150x150 mm). Douglas wood is known for its natural durability, warm appearance and excellent suitability for outdoor use. The generous dimensions of the posts and beams create a strong construction with a long lifespan.

Installation and anchoring:

For an even longer lifespan, the lower parts of the Douglas posts can be treated with tar. This provides additional protection when the posts are installed directly into the ground.

The posts can be anchored directly into the ground using (rapid-setting) concrete. An alternative durable solution is installation on concrete post supports. This keeps the wooden posts away from direct ground contact, which can further extend the lifespan of the construction.
